The capital region borders Virginia, the Potomac River, and Washington D.C. This region stretches from Brunswick to Acokeek.

This region is surrounded by the Potomac River on its western and southern coasts, and the Chesapeake Bay on its eastern coast. It includes Waldorf and Marbury in the northwest, to Dunkirk and Chesapeake Beach in the northeast, and stretches all the way to Point Lookout in the south.

The central region of Maryland lies in between the Capital region and the Chesapeake Bay. This region stretches from Westminster in the west to Aberdeen in the east, down to Shady Side in the south.

The Eastern Shore is situated between the Chesapeake Bay on the left, and Delaware and the Atlantic Ocean on the right. This region includes Perryville and Elkton in the north, and stretches down to Crisfield and Ocean City in the south.
