The Black drum fishing was excellent on the Grizzly this past week. We captured a total of 30 drum in three afternoon trips releasing 24 of these for another day. Utilizing large circle hooks gives us a 100% hook up to catch ratio and allows for clean releases. Seabass fishing has slowed down, but the flounder have started biting to fill the void. Flounder fishing is only going to get better from here on out. It is time to start inshore shark fishing as well.

Jim Weidman joined us for his annual afternoon drum fishing trip and had a great trip. Jim caught a total of 12 drum up to 67 lbs releasing nine black drum. Next we were joined by Grant Clark and friends for a bachelor party. Mother nature forced us to stay in the bay so we tried some drum fishing in the morning with no luck so we caught a few flounder to salvage a bust of a trip.

Steve Henry and family joined us for an afternoon of Drum fishing and had a great trip. They harvested three nice drum to 70lbs and released seven nice fish as well. Christopher Johnson and friends ventured out to the seabass grounds and had a fair catch of seabass to 3 1/4 lbs and a nice codfish.

Andy and Barb Duncan along with Gary and Eileen Smith had an excellent afternoon drum fishing releasing seven nice drum and harvesting just one for the table. Give us a call if you would like to get out this summer. We are already booking for the 2011 spring drum season as well.
