Fishing Report: Hot Topwater Action
Once again the stripers were feeding on top early in the morning near the East end of Fishers Island. Jeff Haines and crew were amazed at how furiously bass in the 30-34 inch class were hitting our squid imitations. We landed a dozen bass in the first hour then a T-storm interrupted us. After taking refuge in Stonington Harbor we decided to target the local fluke without much success. Bass fishing has been very consistent and a little ahead of schedule. I think the hickory shad will be early as well as water temps are moving up quickly.
