Fishing Report: DOLPHIN RUN SLOW!!
Well, you would think the dolphin run would be in full swing by now but the teaser trips from 2 weeks ago were just that. We were out on this past Monday again, May 3. We started trolling n some really nice water in 140 ft. and I had 1 small bite. Continued out to 210 and found a beautiful little weedline. Trolled along it for 3.5 miles with 1 more missed bite. We then headed off to 260 ft. found another weedline with nothing on it also. We finally caught our first dolphin, a 30 lber., in 300 ft. and bagged another 25 lber. in the same depth. Another 1.5 hrs. of trolling yielded no more bites so we stopped on my little AJ spot and picked up our limits of Ajs.

The boat was back out again yesterday with the Villages Fishing Club and Capt. Chris and Mate Matt. Another slow day of fishing with only 1 gaffer dolphin, 3 cobia but only 1 keeper and 4 AJs. The common theme seems to be a lack of bait in the area. Water temp., color and weeds have been fine but nothing to eat for our little buddys is not good. Back out next week so Ill let you know if things get goin again like 2 weeks ago.
